Hey there! Welcome to my herbal world. I'm Jennifer Archer. I started really studying herbalism after having my twins in 2017. I love the history of herb usage as much as the knowledge of growing them. I find it fascinating how their uses were discovered and worked through to give us the preparation we call on today. Here, you'll find information on how different cultures and regions have historically used plants and herbs. Herbal preparations were mentioned as early as 3000 BC on Sumerian Clay tablets and in Chinese text dating around 2500 BC. So welcome to my very nerdy herb world and get ready for as much information as I can squeeze in and share. Disclaimer time y'all, I am not a medical professional, neither are most of you! We do not diagnose illness and disease. And you need to agree to do your own research. We will talk about historical use, identification, growing, harvesting and commonly used preparations. The world of herbal scientific study is constantly evolving and changing. Blending the historical teaching from thousands of years ago with modern science based analysis is bound to yield inspiring learning opportunities. So grab a journal, a great writing pen, and a strange urge to walk around looking for plants in your neighbors yard!!!
An added thought for clarity, none of the photographs or the herb information on this site will be AI generated. The photographs are all mine that have been taken through the years of plants that I have studied in person unless otherwise stated. So buckle up, gear up and let's get ready to get our hands dirty and our lives clean!!
